More pictures of Addy!

I can't help myself! We have become picture takin' fools over here at the Dominie household!

Over the past week, we have had a couple visitors...everyone has been great and very respectful of our tiredness! My cousin-Ryan, aunt & uncle-Doug & Helen, my best friend-Alyson, and Sara and Peri from school. Its been so great seeing everyone and am hoping more are to come!

Here are a few more pictures from the week!

Adelynn is a week old!

Can you believe it?! I can't... A week ago today, I was in some of the most excruciating pain of my life. Twelve hours of labor and two hours of hard pushing. I had no idea what labor could feel like! However, I have already forgotten just how much it hurt. This little girl has turned our world upside down in the most wonderful way!
We have already had our first pediatrician appointment where we got to meet with the lactation nurse. (For those of you who breastfeed or are planning on it, make sure you get to meet one! They are a LIFESAVER!) She checked out beautifully and we absolutely love the doctor.
She has already changed so much from how she looked a week ago. She just gets prettier by the second, and I'm not biased in the least. ;) At this point all she is really doing is a regular schedule of eat, sleep, poop. :) She gives a smirk every now and then and does a lot of staring. I have to say I'm guilty of the staring myself, I can't seem to take my eyes off of her! Neither can her Daddy. Dusty is one smitten man. Who knew this big tough man could be so lovey dovey!
Dusty had to go back to work yesterday. Boo hoo. :( We were both a little sad when he left--wish the family time could have continued a little bit longer. I think he called home about 5 or 6 times yesterday suffering from Adelynn withdrawls! I don't know how I'll go back to work when the time comes that I have to. I literally miss seeing her face when I walk away from her. But, I have until the end of September, so I'm going to soak it all up and try not to think about all that!
I LOVE being a Mommy, just like I thought I would! Here are a few pictures we have taken throughout the week.

look at that sweet face!

one big happy family...Duke thinks he is Addy's size!

I'm thinking I might be making this blog private..

Alright everyone, things in our world have slightly changed in the past week. I've suddenly become more aware that just anyone can look at my blog and see pictures of my daughter and read all about the daily happenings of her life. I don't like that. ;)

If you are someone that reads this and wants to keep reading it, please send me your email addresses. I'm sure the majority of people who read this are just like me, but on the off chance that some creepy people are out there reading it, I need to do this! So again, please send me your email addresses!

Here we go!

We are getting closer and closer.... Dusty has been a cleaning freak today--I thought I had it bad the last week, but not compared to this daddy to be! Everything is packed up, laundry is all caught up, dishwasher is empty, trash is out, and all of Duke's stuff is loaded into the car. (Grandma and Grandpa are watching him for us!) In about one hour we will be heading to drop Duke off and then off to the hospital! Please continue to send good thoughts and prayers our way--I am a ball of nerves! Every emotion rolled into one! I'll try and update as soon as I can!!

Its about time...:)

Alright, here is the latest most up to date information for all you blog followers and friends!
I am 39 wks and 3 days today. Since last nite I have been feeling very nauseous, in fact, I threw up last nite. This morning, I was still very nauseous. So I headed to the doctor for my weekly checkup and as soon as I walked into the waiting room, I began to feel light headed as well. They took me back and my blood pressure was HIGH, I'm talking 140/90. yikes! So because of my high blood pressure, light headedness, and nausea, my doctor sends me to Labor and Delivery Triage to be monitored. Apparently when your blood pressure gets that high this close to the end, it could be very dangerous. So they hooked me up to all these machines and monitors, do bloodwork, and have me get yet another sonogram. Three hours later, all the results showed up normal. Baby girl was super duper healthy and measured in at 8lbs 4oz--perfect size! Thank goodness!
However, because my blood pressure was as high as it was, my doctor informed us that the longer we wait, the more dangerous it could potentially be. Soooo...onto the BIG news....we go back tomorrow nite to begin the induction process! We will head the hospital tomorrow nite around 6pm to get this show on the road!!!
It is so surreal. We will have a baby to actually hold and squeeze and love in a matter of days. It is crazy to think that this road of pregnancy I have been on is about to come to an end. It has been a long and hard road, and we are so ready to meet this little baby girl. (Say a little prayer for our dog, Duke, he has no idea whats about to happen to his world! ;) )
Saty tuned for more updates. I plan on bringing my laptop to the hospital tomorrow nite to help pass the time! We'll see how that works out. :)

OMG!

Only 6 days away from our due date...yikes! I can't even begin to explain how it feels...nervous energy, excitement, a little fear about the unknown...its pretty much every emotion wrapped up into a giant ball.
I go back to the dr again on Wednesday to see if we have progressed at all. I feel like something has changed since last week, I've had contractions off and on for the past few days and they are getting increasingly uncomfortable. She mentioned the possibity of inducing on the 22nd of nothing has happened by our due date, the 21st. We shall see.
I will keep you all posted!

COME ON BABY!

We went to the dr today for my checkup and left somewhat disappointed....
For the past 2 days or so, I have been feeling very crampy. So naturally, I think that we might be progressing here. Nope. Not one bit. Nothing has even begun to dilate. We are doomed for a baby who is stubborn as a mule. I mean, really, we shouldn't be surprised...if you know Dusty or me, you know stubborn could be either one of our middle names. :) Oh well. Just keep on waiting...
The dr did say that if nothing has happened by my due date, the 21st, than we would most likely induce on the 22nd. That has us excited! At least there is an end in sight--finally!!

BIG baby!

We had our last sonogram today to check on the size of our baby girl. Average weight for a baby at this gestation (37 wks 2 days) is right around 6 pounds. Our little over achiever wieghed in at a whopping 7.12 pounds! They say that at this rate, we could be looking at a 9.25 pound baby by the time we reach June 21...maybe she'll come early because she is running out of room and I won't have to push that big of a baby out! Either way, she looked absolutely perfect...beautiful...precious...gorgeous. I could go on and on. We can't wait to meet her and squish those little fat cheeks we saw today. I'm so in love with her already...its amazing. :)
