Merry Christmas....cards!

It's that time again...time to start thinking about what the plan will be for our annual Christmas card. Is it just me, or do you get anxious about taking the perfect picture, finding the absolute cutest card, getting it all done in time?? Aaaahhhh!


I have always had AH-mazing luck with Shutterfly. Love these guys. They have the best stuff on their website--and not just for Christmas. I found the perfect invitation for Addy's first birthday this past summer here. Last Christmas, we did a photo calendar of Addy for my parents. Can't go wrong! I also created a photo book to commemerate Addy's first birthday!

Anywho, I am currently trying to get the photo session scheduled with our favorite photographer, Grandpa! I'm thinking maybe something in front of our fireplace or our tree this year, we have also toyed with the idea of doing something a little silly like dressing up as the Griswald's. :) Our favorite family from our favorite Christmas movie!

My favorite part is picking out the card. Lucky for me, Shutterfly is offering bloggers 50 free cards! (Want your own, go here!)

we met the smo's (aka the smotherman's) for dinner last nite at gloria's in firewheel town center. yumm-o!

kelley and i became great friends during the two years she worked in my classroom and we have continued to get closer as the time goes by. i adore her and her precious family...casey, jeff lewis, and gerry. kelley and i talk all the time, but finding time to actually get together is hard. so i was excited about or plans last nite.

thankful on thanksgiving

earlier in november, i decided i would blog each day about three things that i was thankul for until thanksgiving.

today being thanksgiving, my little project is coming to a close. reflecting back on everything i listed throughout the month, one theme remains constant; i am blessed. i have an infinite amount of things to be thankful for.

here are a few of my favorite things:

1. grandparents that LOVE their granddaughter with every ounce of their being.

2. these two. the best husband a girl could ask for and the best dog/bubba/cuddle partner around!

1. my day off spent with my girl!

2. the wasp i was able to get out of my house all by myself today...usually i rely on my husband for scuch tasks :)

2. free firewood! dusty's boss took us out to their land and we got a truckbed full of firewood!! yay for cozy fires in the fireplace on a cold night!

3. watching addy light up when she saw horses for the first time today. she got to pet and feed them! she LOVED it!!

1. the office. got some good laughs tonight!

2. my willpower. i turned down free pizza from our fabulous pta tonight. i am smaller now than i was when i got pregnant, but i want to lose even more!

3. tomorrow is friday. yippee! payday, pajama day at school, and lunch bunch with some of mpe's finest. :)

1. pacifiers. tonight it was the ONLY thing to get addy out of her temper tantrum. i know, i know, we are working on getting rid of it all together, but i had a weak moment.

2. that my pdas observation is over! i don't get too stressed out over it anymore, but i am always glad it's over.

3. aldi. had a pork tenderloin and spring veggies all from aldi--yummy! and all under $6!

1. the giant smile adelynn greeted me with when i got her out of bed this morning
2. skype! do you have this? you should! thanks to this free program, addy gets to see her cali granny on a weekly basis--almost as good as the real thing. :) and its a perk for the local grandparents when they need their 2 minute addy fix in between visits :)
3. netflix--love this little movie watching setup. we have become obsessed with a little gem called dexter. we are finally on season 3--season 6 has just started on showtime. this show is ah-mazing--i look forward to evenings of dexter watching with my feet up!

today i am thankful for...

1. taco salad tuesday--as we speak, my husband is making his yummy taco salad with fresh tomatos, onion, lettuce, avacado, cheese, and special sauce...yumm-o! too bad you can't smell how good it is!

2. the change i scrounged up in my car to buy myself a diet coke from mcdonalds on the way to my meeting!

3. my daughter still being awake when i got home from the meeting!

what are YOU thankful for?

i have been crabby lately, especially at work. feeling a bit beatdown, stuck, complacent, invisible...etc. it's forced me to do a little soul searching...why am i feeling this way? i have some ideas on that matter, that i won't bore you with here. ;)

however, this grouchy attitude of mine has gotten to the point of annoying me a bit. while i can't do much to change the circumstances surrounding my feelings, i can, however, change the way in which i react to these particular circumstances. :)

everyday, for this beautiful month of november, i will list a few things i am thankful for that particular day. some may not be very deep or profound, however, i am hoping this project helps to get me out of my crabby rut.

today, 11.8.2010, i am thankful:

1. for my husband who said to me this morning, 'don't worry, babe, it will be alright'...just when i needed it. love him.

2. for the walk i took with my girl and our 'bubba' this evening as the sun was setting.

3. for conan's premiere on tbs tonite! missed me some conan. :)
